Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best well-known for her character of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she earned an Emmy Award. Her most well-known role is her part in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife who was a housewife. Her upbringing was in a family that included four brothers. When she was a kid she longed to be an official in the courtroom. However, after graduating from high school and moving into New York in the 1980s, she began modeling. In 1981, she appeared as a naive teen in All My Children. Delaney's career has been filled with a variety of television shows and dramas. While she has a successful professional life, Delaney's private life isn't as successful and happy. The skilled actor had to battle alcoholism, and has had two marriages that failed. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her son.
