Later, she signed up for three films together with Yash Raj Films. The film in which she starred played the role of a young, middle-aged bride male (the character Shah Rukh Khan was playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. The year 2010 was the year that Anushka Sharma appeared in the film 'Badmash Company together with Shahid Kapoor Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das as well as Meiyang Chang. The film was met with mixed praise. Anushka played a role in a film named Band Baaja Baaraat, starring Ranveer in which she portrayed a Punjabi-American girl of middle class who sets up her own wedding-planning company. The movie received positive reviews and turned out to be an overnight success. Anushka's contract for three films at Yash Raj Films ended with the release of Band Baaja Baaraat.
